My Easy 3-Step Morning Skincare Routine

May 26, 2019

Happy Sunday, everybody! I wanted to get this week started off right with my morning skincare routine. Having a good daytime skincare routine is crucial. Daytime skincare is all about protection and preservation. For most of high school I would just sleep in my makeup and reapply more on top the next morning (disgusting… I know). In college I had a solid nighttime routine, but I would simply wake up with whatever was left from that and begin my makeup application. As you can imagine, this didn’t bode well for my combination skin. It’s taken a few years, but I’ve finally found my holy grail morning skincare routine. It’s pretty simple too (3 steps to be exact), so let’s get into what I do to my face in the morning.

Step 1 // Jade Roll

I always start off my morning skincare routine by pulling my jade roller out of the refrigerator and giving my face a mini massage. It’s a really refreshing way to wake yourself up in the morning and also does wonders for puffiness. I stopped cleansing my face in the morning because washing my face twice a day was drying my skin out.

Step 2 // Caffeine Serum

After I’ve woken myself up a bit with the jade roller, I will gently pat some of the Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG to lessen the appearance of dark circles, brighten, and de-puff my under-eye area. I’ve used this stuff for 3 or 4 years now and swear by it, especially if you have really dark under eye circles.

Step 3 // Daily Moisturizer w/ SPF

This is a step everyone – man or woman – should be doing. You need to apply sunscreen to your face daily to protect from UVA/UVB rays, pollution, and free radicals. It is never too early to start anti-aging. Using an SPF daily is the #1 thing you can do to prevent fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots/damage, and the overall aging process. If you read my Nighttime Skincare Routine post, you know I love the Hadalabo Perfect Gel. Well, Hadalabo makes a Hydrating UV Gel Moisturizer with SPF 50!! I’ve been using this is as both my SPF and daily moisturizer since it is so nourishing. After this step, my skin is prepped and ready to go for makeup!
